Justin Murphy to Maria Maalouf: “The Iranian Regime Needs to Be Long Gone”

In brief

Republican U.S. Senate candidate from New Jersey Justin Murphy joins Maria Maalouf on The Capitol Show for a wide-ranging conversation on the future of New Jersey and U.S. policy at home and abroad.

Murphy discusses why he believes Republicans are gaining ground in New Jersey, the political impact of President Donald Trump, affordability and taxes, border security, immigration, crime and public safety, and his vision for attracting independent and Democratic voters.

Drawing on his experience serving in the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War, Murphy also addresses Iran and its nuclear ambitions, the IRGC and Tehran-backed proxies, U.S. support for Israel, the Abraham Accords, and the strategic importance of the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf partners.

In the interview, Murphy explains why he supports continued pressure on Tehran, discusses his own experience sailing through the Strait of Hormuz, and lays out the message he hopes will persuade New Jersey voters looking for different representation in Washington.
